PT Sawit Surya Sejati (“PT SSS”) is one of subsidiaries for United Plantations Berhad. PTSSS has carried out land clearing long before the HCV assessment, starting from 2007 until 2008, right after the completion of 2008 planting, therefore PTSSS has performed RSPO Remediation and Compensation Procedure. In order to comply with the procedure, PT SSS engaged with Aksenta to perform LUCA and compensation liability assessment. The groundtruthing activities were performed on 16-23 May 2014, along with the HCV Assessment.

The objective of assessment is to:

1. Identify the area which have been cleared by the organization for commercial purpose (for developing of oil palm plantation and its supporting infrastructure), as of November 2005 until the date of HCV assessment period;
2. Access the company’s compensation liability as a result of such land clearing without prior HCV assessment
